The Wall Street Journal reports that consumers can find more deals on sedans as many consumers are opting for trucks and SUV’s. As a result, prices are approximately 7% less when it comes to compact vehicles like the Toyota Corolla and Focus. Pricing on midsize vehicles like the Chevrolet Malibu and Honda Accord have remained constant. If you’re looking for value and the best prices you may want to consider shopping for a midsize or compact vehicle. Luxury sedans are also more affordable on average. The BMW 3 series and Audi A6 are overall 6% more affordable in October 2017 compared to 2015.
Consumers can generally find more deals during the fall and winter. Black Friday, Christmas Eve and Thanksgiving provide more deals on used cars. Auto dealers are more likely to lower prices during November and December in order to meet annual goals.
